Flekkefjord – An idyllic coastal town located roughly midway between Kristiansand and Stavanger. Flekkefjord is the westernmost municipality in Agder county.
In the 16th and 17th centuries, Flekkefjord had strong trade connections with the Netherlands, and many Dutch settlers moved to the town. Therefore, there is still an area in the town called Hollenderbyen. Today, Flekkefjord has just over 9,000 residents, and the town has its own hospital close to the center.

It’s in Our Nature
The most common outdoor activity among Norwegians is hiking in the mountains and nature, or taking a Sunday stroll nearby. Cross-country skiing in winter is almost mandatory.
To plan trips, both in summer and winter, you can get great guidance from the website or app of The Norwegian Trekking Association (DNT), which offers language options in Norwegian, English, German, and French.
DNT has 550 cabins across Norway, a network of 22,000 km marked hiking trails, and about 7,000 km of ski trails.

Tourist Information
The tourist information center in Flekkefjord is located at the cultural center ‘Spira’, Elvegaten 1. Inside the main entrance in the main hall, you will find a wall with brochures and a touchscreen. The screen provides information about accommodation, restaurants, activities, and much more in and around Flekkefjord.

Spira Flekkefjord Cultural Center

The center also offers theater, cinema, library services, and rental of rooms and technical equipment.
Sørlandsbadet in Lyngdal
The water park Sørlandsbadet is one of the most well-known places in Lyngdal, about a 40-minute drive from Flekkefjord. Sørlandsbadet has both indoor and outdoor facilities, as well as a gym, wellness center, café, physiotherapy, and hiking trails. The indoor pool is open year-round and features multiple attractions.
