Get to know Agder from the inside. Our social gatherings, called “Secrets of Agder,” bring together international talent, partners, friends, and locals for an evening of real stories from and about the region.
Six times a year, from October through May, Relocation Agder and the University of Agder invite you to “Secrets of Agder,” a gathering for adult internationals who want to explore the region and get to know the people who live here.
About Secrets of Agder
Secrets of Agder always takes place from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The first hour features a new theme, local speakers, and personal stories about the places, people and opportunities that make Agder so unique. The rest of the evening is dedicated to mingling and getting to know each other in an informal setting.
The location varies from event to event, but the gatherings are most often held at the BARE student house in Kristiansand. Find information under each specific event date including the theme, time, and venue.
2026 events
Secrets of Agder is always free of charge, but registration is required. Complimentary snacks and non-alcoholic beverages will be served. The registration link can be found under the relevant event date. Registration opens closer to the event.

- Kilden Theatre and Concert Hall
- Guided tour of the theatre and concert hall, and gain an insight into the set design for the current production, ‘From krakk to Kamp’
- Nora Clarke, Project Manager International Labour, Kristiansand Chamber of Commerce
- Presenting a new mentor programme for spouses of international employees in Agder. Gain insight on how to build a professional network, understand Norwegian working culture and guidance in finding suitable employment
- Zelha Tunc Pekkan, Associate Professor, University of Agder
- Presentation of the Norwegian education system, with reflections and comparisons with educational experiences in the United States and Türkiye – Joined by a Norwegian language teacher from Kongsgård Skolesenter who specializes in adult education
- Networking and make new contacts
- Enjoy light refreshments in lovely surroundings
